According to the Vietnam Tourism Occupation Standard (VTOS) - the Hospitality Management profession covers the main duties of a hotel manager from a small to moderate level and focuses on capacity development (skills, knowledge and attitude/behavior) to be able to run the hotel effectively and professionally.

The hotel manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the hotel and its staff. They are responsible for accounting for business activities related to budgeting and financial management, planning, organizing and directing all hotel services, including the lobby ( reception, information and luggage support, room service), restaurant and room service.

 

The main jobs of the Hotel General Manager: 

 

  1. Develop business plans and strategies
  2. Building organizational structure of the hotel
  3. Develop service standards, specifications and hotel management regulations
  4. Lead and run the activities
  5. Check and supervise the implementation of activities
  6. Evaluate the performance of activities
  7. Establish and develop internal relations
  8. Establishing and developing external relations
  9. Run the daily work
